IN/HOSPITALITY was an exhibition we put together in response to this year’s Biennial theme of Hospitality.
We exhibited a selection of photos taken in the UK and abroad exploring the idea of hospitality, and occasionally inhospitality. Our observations ranged from rebellious pigeon feeders and thoughtfully placed chairs in bus shelters to inhospitable hosts and unattractive attractions.
The Caravan Gallery transformed an empty shop in St Annes into a temporary gallery-cum-visitor information centre as part of the Revealed arts festival programme.
The Caravan Gallery’s German debut exhibition featured classic images from the ’Is Britain Great?’ archive.

The Caravan Gallery was commissioned to create an exhibition about the Flemish town of Wetteren for inclusion in a group show in a disused sock factory. Images were displayed inside the caravan and in the Cordonnier building alongside the work of selected Belgian and French artists.
Visitors were invited to make their mark on The People’s Map of Wetteren and we produced a set of six commemorative postcards.

Month long exhibition featuring new and archival images of Portsmouth and Portsmouth Video Portraits by The Caravan Gallery. Visitors were invited to participate by annotating a People’s Map and adding to The People’s Wall. The outcome resembled a dynamic and refreshingly anarchic visitor information centre.
